What’s up, DOC?

How do you determine whether an Italian wine is really worth drinking?

You’ll want to look for quality assurance labels: three key ones to know are IGT, DOC and DOCG. We’ll start with giving you the lowdown on DOC wines.

“DOC” stands for Denominazione di Origine Controllata (controlled designation of origin). For a wine to attain this label, its production must adhere to strictly prescribed methods and must take place within a designated geographical area (such as the Chianti or Bolgheri regions). Four of the wines currently served at Mi Garba hold this prestigious designation.
